Day 7. Zion to Big Bear
Got out early, of course. Story of the trip. Made my through Vegas thinking, "I should stop and treat myself to a hotel. Nahhhh, Keep driving." This was the Sunday night of the shooting. Bizarre. I have been to the South side of Big Bear, so this time I went North. Found some random dirt roads and drove up the hills. Laid in the hammock under a tree and just relaxed, let the sun go down and spent my last night in the truck. The next morning it was back to reality. I think by this point I was really tired of taking photos, and considering I spent most of the day laying in a hammock, there's nothing to really show. But this was the last day of the trip so now you know the story.
For a last minute trip, everything went amazing. Rolled with the punches on the weather some. To be expected. Was outside the entire time except for 10 minutes in the grocery store. Slept in Motel 4 every night. Utah is an amazing place. So much diversity of landscape in such close proximity. I know Moab is Mecca for 4wd, but there's so much to explore besides just driving expensive toys on big rocks.
