Theoretically Speaking Swapping Grill and Lights

I really like Satoshi Grills on 05+ 4runners and I have an 04 they look terrible with those grills. If you get an 05+ grill on the 04 there are gaps. Also, I was thinking about getting 06+ lights on my 4runner. Would that fill in the gap? If I had an 05+ grill and light housing? Or is it wishful thinking?

It's actually 06+ for the newer style, its well documented on here, you can completely swap over to the newer style by buying the new headlights, filler plates underneath the headlights, and maybe the newer bumper is necessary, not sure.

I did this to my 2004, you'll need headlights grill and filler panel (x2) under the headlights. Should be able to do it all for ~$250 I did a write up on the whole install and if you're interested in doing the front bumper too there's more info there

I did this. Honestly the triangle gap looked good to me with the old grill. The 06+ grill will require serious modification regardless of the option you choose. I redid 2 grills when I had my 04. The first one requires trimming about 3/4" from the bottom bar of the grill, and removing the black trim on the bumper and cutting away some of the brackets on the bumper itself so it could close. I was able to retain the holes on the bumper for the trim piece so when I traded in my 04, I could slap the old grill and trim back on and it didn't look any different.

The second grill I made was a satoshi. I cut the bottom of the grill off and cut the sides down to where it could fit on the car, again with the black trim piece removed, or cut, I can't remember. Cut out the guts of the grill and then reattached the bottom grill bar with some hinges and bondo. This method would look very off balance if you were rataining the center parts of the grill.
