im a newbie at auto repair. please help me. i have a 1993 V6 toyota 4runner and i have no clue were the thermostat is. we found on the bottom right (when your standing in front) of the engine a hose that connects to this round thing bolted to the engine and i dont want to take it off and it be something else. please help. thanks.

Follow your upper radiator hose to where it bolts onto the thermastat housing from the radiator.....
