Things to do with the two button spaces!!

Every day while driving I look down at the two empty button spaces (next to the DAC switch) and I feel the need to put a mod in there.

So, what have you guys done with those empty spaces, what ideas do you have?

Thanks!

I'm planning to add heated seats and will put the two switches there. Lots of options... one guy even just posted his modification to add a USB jack in one of the switch blanks.

I'm putting yellow and clear strobes on my ride soon for work and I plan on moving the DAC button to the middle and putting a switch on each side of it. The left will be the front strobes and the right will be the back strobes. I'm pretty excited!

But i'll still have two more empty spaces to the left of the steering wheel, right now there is the stock center diff lock button and my DIY "VSC Off" switch, maybe I'll have to add some driving lights just to fill up those spots?

Thats a neat idea! What do you do that you need strobes? The homemade VSC off switch is a good Idea I think I'll make one of those, but I'll still be putting it next to the steering wheel.

Other Ideas?

I'm a traffic safety engineer for the Department of Transportation. I investigate high frequency crash locations and fatal car accident sites so I'm constantly stopping on the side of the road in seemingly random places so it's nice to warn people that I'm slowing down with strobes. Plus I can't always get completely off the road on some rural roads with deep ditches right next to the shoulder, so I like to draw attention to that fact with strobes. I'm not trying to have someone rear-end my baby ESPECIALLY with me in it!

How about a rear diff locker switch in one and a front diff locker in the other?

Or because the passanger can see it, make a dummy switch called Pass Ejection

What about a button that makes your brake lights come on, i've always wanted one...that way if someone is tailgating you or if someone has their brights on behind you, you can flash your brake lights without having to actually hit the brakes OR maybe some interior foot well lights, i'm think or adding those as well. Here a link if you interested Toyota 4Runner Footwell Led Lighting Mod

Not sure if you need a CB, but... I bought a Cobra 75 CB for off roading since there's really no place to hide a full sized CB and I didn't want it just screwed to the side of the center console. I'll be mounting the quick release in one of those spaces. I might move the seat heater over to have the CB mounted on the side to get the cord out of the way.

I put two switches in the blanks of my '05. One for foot well lights & the other for an on/off switch for my radar detector just in case I ever wanna turn it off & keep it off.

I saw someone who made a usb charger mod that fit in one of those spaces, if anyone was also looking for Ideas.

I put my Cobra 19 Plus on the left of my steering column. I have a '97 4runner. I can successfully pull the hood release with minimal interference from the back of my cb.
