Think twice before buying NFab bars

I always cringe when I see these mounted on trucks. Aren't you guys afraid of the damage these will cause to your bodywork the second they get hung up on a rock ?

depends on the purpose of the product, right? i have these on my truck as well and i know full well they are not sliders...these are used as steps for my wife and 2 kids. have been happy with mine and no rust issues here (georgia).

I think there is a pocket under the plate that never got any real primer or sealing of the bare metal before the plate was welded on and the finish shot on the completed assembly......bad idea.

I'm considering the line-x option before I run into trouble. I got a quote for $375. Is that reasonable? It's more than I paid for the bars, even before the $40 rebate!

Sounds like a ton considering my 2010 Silverado standard bed (6'6") only cost me just shy of 600 for the whole thing. I just just got RCI Sliders and they are actually sitting in the garage right now with primer on them getting ready for paint tomorrow since I already know I am going to be touching them up often, and it was 150 cheaper with bare metal no powdercoat. Good luck.

So I'm cruising along the highway doing a good 65 mph with the family in the 4runner headed to a dinosaur exhibit at the museum, and in the corner of my eye, I see these rusted out running boards. I throw my phone at my wife, tell her to take pictures of those side steps. She says what the f*** are side steps? I tell her that rusted out section on the side of his truck. She says, oh those disgusting looking things? So I race to catch up to him and my wife snaps some pics as we're cruising down the highway.

Can anyone confirm if they are nfab nerf bars or some cheap knock off? (hoping for the cheap knock off answer). I'm close to purchasing them but if this is what happens to them, I'll have to reconsider.

Your wife takes great action shots! It doesn’t matter if they are nfabs or similar, both will eventually rust with use and weathering. It’s the downside of steel... eventually the paint will nick or chip then rust. You can paint or use things like rust converter but they will need maintenance. It might only be every few years...
