Think of the poor owner after you and don't do it! What a PITA, wish I got it off years ago, the sides that didn't start cracking yet still come off with most adhesive intact after heating. Going to be several hours yet of soaking residue with acetone and scraping with plastic blades again and again to get the rest of the adhesive off.

Anyone else needing to remove it, the style blade holders in this pic are 100x better than the alternate style that are open on the bottom and just clip in. I went through more blades in the first 6 square inches with one of those holders than the whole rest of the hood with this kind.

Dealership had already put the clear bra on my 2016. Only time anyone notices it is when they their hand strikes it or sometimes some think my paint is scratched. I absolutely love it.

That looks like hell but the big question is....did it protect the underlying paint?

Used to like mine too. We'll have to see how it looks after I suffer through a few more hours with the acetone and a scraper blade before I can speak to protection, although I definitely put a couple gouges in the plastic panels below during the film removal alone. Tell you what though, I'd rather touch up 100 rock dings than scrape off another 1 of these either way. I assume this one was also a dealer thing but I'm the second owner so can't say for sure where it came from. Definitely a custom molded, professionally applied product.

I removed a couple small pieces (only 1-2 yrs old), but steam is the tool of choice there.

The adhesive isn't water soluble, so any source of heat should be as good as the next. Def best to get it while it's fresher, most of the glue came off with the wrap on my areas that got less direct sun. Some people also suggest using eraser wheels. I've used on factory decals before with success, although doubtful it'd be as clean here, but Amazon sent a used return 3M without the adapter shaft so I returned and wasn't able to try it.
