Thinking about getting a 3rd generation 4Runner

I have been looking at a 1995 at 112K miles and it's 5K.
This is pretty much all the money I have so I want to make sure I don't end up spending more right after I purchase the car.

I have been reading alot about head gasket problem.
Does anyone know if this was fixed for later models or is it an issue for the whole 3rd generation models?

Is there anything else that I should be aware of this car except the obvious gas millage that I have been reading about?

'95 is a 2nd gen and a whole lot different than a 3rd.
