Thinking of buying older 4runner

Hi,

I'm new here and don't own a 4Runner yet. I'm actually looking for a used vehicle and came across some used 4 runners, which I've always thought looked pretty cool and they fit in my price range. I've never actually driven one.

I have a budget of $6-10K and have found several nice 4Runners in the 2002-4 year range with 90-120K miles. I've never owned any Toyota before and wanted to know what I need to look out for in buying a used 4Runner.

How many miles does a taken care of 4Runner get in a lifetime?
Any significant mechanical issues to look out for?

It is nice if there are service records with the truck. You want to know if and when the timing belt and water pump have been serviced. Check the front CV boots for tears or leaks.
