Thinking of getting an '11 Lexus 350 RX, opinions?

Hi all, thinking of getting an '11 Lexus 350 RX, 59,000 miles good shape, few scuffs/chips, needs tires, (thinking of getting the Hankook Dynapro if I get it), but good trade in numbers on my '06 4Runner with 149,000 miles. They are almost the same size, the RX is about 1" smaller in every direction, but very nice, leather, nav, comfy, AWD etc...you guys have always been very knowledgeable with this stuff....any opinions on this?

They're nice, but seemed sort of small when it came to hauling stuff. I believe Toyota still makes them in Canada. You usually pay a little more because it says Lexus.

I looked at that model briefly in 2010, but bought a new Highlander Limited because my father found it easier get out of during my weekly visits to the nursing home for our lunch outing. He had bad knees and three screws in one hip joint. When it got to the dealer I discovered that I got one of the last made-in-Japan Highlanders.

Is this for you? To replace your 4R? Have you driven a 5th Gen? This is NOT an off-roader - what's the point to the Dynapros?

Rarely hear a bad word about the RX. It is a consistent top-seller for Lexus for a reason. I have relatives and friends who have bought used RXs, and are happy.

I was going to buy the wife a 2015 (the new ones look like ass), but I cheaped out and bought her a new Sportage. I regret that now, as I know she'd have really loved to have the RX.

Is there a Lexus forum? That's where I'd go for advice.

This is so true. Unfortunately being a luxury model basic maintenance does come at a premium price.

I was going to say that as well...everyone and their mom literally has one of these. I think they are good size and ride great, but as for going to a lexus forum to ask owners opinions...I think that may become a little biased..I mean look at this forum. Maybe look at reviews and find the cons from several articles to see if those "cons"/opinons really matter to you.

Well .... see .... um .... it's like this: I have this friend who's had 3 new KIAs (2 him, 1 daughter) that have been 100% trouble free over 3+ years. I've ridden in his Sorento a lot, and it's actually nice - not Lexus plush tho.

And the price - new car, top features, top warranty, $2000.00 MORE!! trade-in than the Honda dealer for her '13 Accord, very attractive msrp, more attractive discounts, etc etc .... for dramatically less money than a 2015 RX with 36,XXX miles. So, I decided to give it a try ... it's actually a nice car ... but time will tell.

New Hyundais and KIAs are very nice cars. They also offer a lot of value for the $ because of all the manufacturer incentives.

Yup, for me, replacing the 4R, will not be using the RX as an off roader, might have an older 4R for that, just as a DD, as far as the Dynapros, I heard they are one of the best all seasons for snow..........but that's why I posted it here, you guys have always been great......
