I like the part that says it’s not clear how he or the dog got water. CNN, huh?

And the part that says, "He then fell asleep and woke up Monday to even more snow, unable to get out of the vehicle. He tried to walk out Monday, but the snow was too deep..."

So he was unable to get out of the vehicle but he left and walked? Okay, so apparently he wasn't stuck in the vehicle...

Seriously, this qualifies as journalism? WTF did a 6th grader write this?

Regardless of how he got stuck (stupidity or carelessness) I’m glad he and the dog are all right. I keep emergency water and food in my vehicle for unexpected emergencies like this. The water and the food bars have shelf lives of 10 years. They taste good and have lots of calories. Imagine if he had had a shovel, two max traxs...

Ive read enough of these stories...so i keep two bottles of water in the driver side door always now...ive gotten stuck and had to walk out of a situation for help...you just never know.

Rear locker or not, i agree 101% about water...sometimes, the mall parking lot is quite big and you have to park far away because some moron took the handicap spot that you normally park in illegally!

Sorta true...!
I have a 98 Limited that I almost got stuck this past Sunday (I live next town over from subject of story) I used a SHOVEL and my locker to get out.
Also had water, (some) food, wool blankets, and snowshoes jic.
That story is terribly written and does nothing to help readers avoid similar situations. A vehicle can get stuck so much easier than most people think.

I'm still curious as to how he got stuck. I live in MN and go through a LOT of treacherous snow on a regular basis and never get even remotely stuck. Did he spin off the road or something? Do his tires suck?

I have to imagine that the whole "water" thing was pretty easy, as he was surrounded by fluffy, frozen water.
