Hey, i found a 1999 Dark Green (yours) SR5 with a Hood Scoop, the limited wheels, and small fender flares. Does that gaurantee that it is a Highlander Edition one? great Price Too. with 118,000.

most likely its a highlander. not many ppl sell 4runners with aftermarket hood scoops if at all..

most ppl who do that are ppl on yotatech or here anyways.

thats what i was going to say, i actually talked to a middle aged mom the other day at work and she had a 4runner with all these TRD/JDM mods done to it and was asking about exhausts. Rare but it does happen so id deffinitly ask.

also which is better, the highlander edt or the sport edt that has the sport badges?

I don't think their is much difference between the Highlander and Sport, just after they offered the Highlander car based SUV they had to rename the 4Runner package. I have an 02 Sport and above and beyond the SR5 it seems to have,

Everything is painted the same color, ie bumpers, flares, tube steps.
Hood Scoop, Coke Bottle rims, Sport two tone buckets, silver or whatever dash trim and I read somewhere that they have larger sway bars for improved handling. If I missed anything please chime in and if the Highlander has or doesn't have something add that.

Of course Highlanders could have an e-locker whereas no 4Runner after 01 had that, so another difference, but I don't know if every Highlander had the e-locker. Just like my 02 has a sunroof, but I don't think that is part of the Sport package as many SR5's have a sunroof.

'99-'00 were called Highlanders then in '01 it was the Sport package and then finally in '02 it came with official "sport" badges and the Tacoma skidplate.

regardless of model, elockers stopped anyways after 00.

Yes after proofreading I see my post may have been interpreted to say 01 had the locker, 00 last year of locker, 2.7, 5 speed and no center diff.
