This is weird (apple car play)

Hello,
New owner here. After two days of driving, my phone decided to connect via car play. Huh? I though the radio didn't have it. Oh well, I'm quite happy now.

But today, I started the truck without my phone on me and when I brought it in, it's back to the old radio. No car play. No way to connect other than bluetooth to hear my music.

What am I missing? It definitely connected car play a day ago.

2020 was the first year for Apple Car Play. The 4 Runner was off my list until Apple Car Play was available.
