This will PISS YOU OFF!!

yp here in noth california bay area, im payin like 3.50 a gallon for premium octane 91, i always pump that from 76 gas station and cheveron

putting 91 in a 4runner is a waste of money

the engine is made to run on 87, 89 is probably the highest you should go where it could make a difference

I did all the math and I got the same from my buddies which was it was not worth it, until I gave them the numbers. And now they are looking into buying a small beater. I bought a used Tercel last year in October and have done over 35,000KM up till now. And all I can say is YES it is worth it for ME. In just over a year It's paid itself off and the insurance plus the new tires I put on. After that its almost like driving a free car except for a little upkeep, and for the money I was spending on the Runner I now have another car.

:D

I've been successfully able to run 85 in my tank with zero knock issues but I'm sure altitude has a little to do with it.

I am sure this has been noted but the vancouver prices are in liters not gallons. :)

I would agree with SH0ck-D 100%.

I don't care if I could save $500 a year on gas. until the next time I go to the pump and find out that I can't fill up becuase I have no money in my account, which will be never, I will keep filling up for my 14 mpg.

How is it you're only getting 14mpg with a 2wd? I get 16 even with my larger/heavier tires and that was even with my rack on the top and I have a heavy foot.

I think you need a tuneup.

i have larger tires, brand new o2 sensors, the deckplate/isr mods, and i just got an oil change plus a regular tune up at the toyota dealership when i got the new 02 sensors. when i first got my car with the stock tires i got 15-16 regularly but now i don't know what's up. This tank I am trying to take it easy but i thin it just might be the 100 degree heat every goddamn day. plus my commute to work has a 500 foot hill in between that I have to go over there and back.
