Those tires everyone recommends...?

Hey all, haven't been here in quite a while, but I remember there was a set of tires that were pretty much the universally recommended ones for these rims (the stock Sport Edition ones):

And a place everyone recommended to get them online for cheapest.

I remember they had the white writing and were suited for all weather conditions. I think they were recommended to me when I mentioned better handling (as I have the standard Dunlop AT20s right now).

Anyway, you guys know the place online and the model?

My guess is your talking about BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO

I may be remembering different parts here. White lettering is just a personal preference, but I recall the ones they recommended did have that as an option.

In any case, I live in New England, and am just looking for what people consider the best of the best ATs. Thanks!!!

I think tires are a matter of personal preference, but there are a few models that have been consistently recommended over the years, including:
-- Bridgestone Revo (now Revo2): I had the Revos on my 04V8 and liked them well enough.
-- Firestone Destination AT (very similar to Revo tread, cheaper)
-- BFG All-Terrain (People were recommending these in the 90's when I had a Jeep; they are well established, I had them on a Grand Cherokee in New England, but preferred the Revos
-- Michelin LTX AT -- I have these now and they seem at least as competent as the the Revos. They balanced with hardly any weights, which I think is a good sign of quality.
Those are all I have experience with, but there are plenty other models that folks recommend.
 
Revo, that sounds about right. In any case, Consumer Reports and Tirerack both seem to really favor the Michelin LTX M/S2s right now. Thoughts?
 
Seems the most recent flavor of the month is the Goodyear Duratracs.
I have no experience with them, only what I've read here. Seem to get real good reviews from those that have them.
 
New Englander here too! We got 2 4Runners, both with BFG Radial Long Trail T/A's on both of em. They've last a long time and have been great in the snow (especially this winter!). I got them at BJ's Wholesale for $650 installed with lifetime balancing and rotation and road hazard warranty.

you also might be talking about goodyear silent armours, which are severe snow rated. that seemed to be the consensus here for good winter performance when i was snooping around. i got them, and like them. wasn't blown away by snow performance but i have been in an audi w/ dedicated snows for the last 10 winters so i'm not sure any all season would be better. they're pretty quiet and my only complaint is they are heavy, hopefully they will last though.

definitely bridgestone dueler at revo's. they have thin white lettering, great in all conditions, last a long time, and everyone did used to reccommend them haha

do not get goodyear wrangler silent armors, i work at a tireshop adn everyone that replaces these replace em early cause un even wear. they arent good imo

Make sure and get passenger tires (what the truck comes with) instead of Light Truck tires (P instead of LT). The P will preceed the tire size numbers on the sidewall.

Tire Rack must think including this info cuts into tire sales, so if you look there, you'll not find P or LT as a prefix. Instead, look for info in the UTQG column instead of an entry that says "none".

Many good choices but Revo 2 would definitely be one of them. All-terrain tire plus (likely) better handling, as well.
 
As an onroad tire, I really like my Michelin CrossTerrains. They are not an aggressive offroad tire, though, if that is what you are looking for.

Hah, M, I just recognized you from another forum I frequent. Let's just say I might expect to see one of Derek's stickers on your 4R's bumper :).
