Those with aftermarket skids

Do aftermarket skids, specifically the engine skid, use the same holes as the stock plate does? I'm assuming they do, but would like to know for sure. Thanks all.

Well that's not good news. I saw a post about Heftyfabs use the front 2 but use different rear holes. Others please chime in. I have 1 stripped front mount and 1 broken bolt with ez out stuck inside it on a rear one.

I have the Hefty front skid. It uses two of the stock front holes, but different for the middle and back....beefier.

For some reason I was thinking I didn't use all the factory holes. The front ones for sure but since stock was shorter and two pieces I thought it skipped the middle. Could be different though, mine have been on a few years now.

You may be right...I have the TRD front skid and the transition bolted into factory holes (essentially covering the same area as th RCI front) I assumed that the front engine would do the same and use the same mounting points but I could be assuming completely wrong.

You can replace the front brace it mounts to. I think it was $70. Or you can tap it or you can drill it out and weld a nut on the back.

Yeah I think I'm gonna do that this weekend. I need a new tap/die set and will have to go bigger than stock. The ez out that snapped is going to be a pain.

Hmm... that's good to know. I could have sworn mine was welded. I'll have to look at it better this weekend. Do you by chance have a link to the brace?
