Those with Clear Turn signals

Hey, so I was wondering,

what type of bulb are you running if you have Clear Turn signal lenses??

Are any DOT approved?

I found a few at Pep Boys yesterday, but wasnt sure if some of them would blink...

also found these

2 SUPER AMBER 24 LED TURN/PARKING LIGHT BULBS 1156

what do you think??

any other options you guys went with?

I'm just using the clear OEM version which looks close to amber compared to my headlamps and are very bright. I'll try to snap a pic tomorrow.

I have the clear lenses, but the amber bulbs. So yes they are DOT approved. I'm not sure if clear bulbs are DOT approved.

Same with my corner lights, clear lenses but amber bulbs.

Yeah, I was referring to the clear LEDs or clear bulbs like the ones from burtman, that blink amber when turned on.

Well mine are LED's in my bumper, the turn signals. They are clear, but blink amber. I gt them off ebay for around $25 shipped.

Clear Bulbs


Here in VA, you may have clear bulbs within a colored (amber for front - amber or red for the rear) directional signal lens. You can also have a clear lens with a colored bulb (red or amber for rear, amber for the front).

Clear bulb with clear or white lens is verboten and will likely earn you a roadside chat with Officer Friendly.

P.S. The gutsiest thing I saw recently was some chap with blue fog lights. Now that was just downright insane - as blue is a law enforcement color in this state.

us ARB guys with the clears are loving these URO Tuning lenses and lamps-honestly did not pay attention to the bulb but I am sure they are legals.

I'll get some photos up if it ever stops raining.

Interesting... cuz even though I have "clear" lenses, they are still not transparent.. they still are "frosted" so you cant "see" the bulb, you could prob notice that there is no amber reflection coming from the bulb when its off, but when its on it would be amber, seems kind of hard to enforce, cuz if you turn on the lights, the cop sees amber, what he sees when the car is off is a frosted lens that could or could not have an amber colored bulb behind it... seems like he would have to take off the lense to see if you had a clear or amber bulb... Im guessing you would prob have to piss them off pretty bad for them to be that picky?

so no one has any more links to actual bulbs? if you have clear corners where did you get your bulbs/LEDs???

I found some at Pep Boys but I dont know if they flash, they said they were for brake/tails... but they were 1156, I know that fits, but will it flash with the turn signal? also, I heard some need resistors or they will flash "fast"??

anyone know about that??

The officer would not know until he saw it blink. A "white" light blinking light would be easy to see.

oh yeah... a clear white light blink is against the law here too.. I need to get something in there soon.

but if its a clear bulb or LED that blinks amber would you still get a ticket in VA?? thats what Im looking for.

so theres no amber at all behind the "clear" frosted lense until you turn on your blinker.

These will work for sure, and are bright. Chrome plated bulb, but blink orange.
