Thoughts on LX470

So my wife has been bugging for a good year now to upgrade her DD since I have taken the 4R to the offroad realm. Our kids are getting big enough to warrant the necessity to take other kids around and neither one of us likes the minivan platform.

Anyway, we are partial to LandCruisers but of course you can't ever find one for sale. I have been looking at lease return LX470s and they are quite nice.

I have a line on an '06 with 58K miles for $33K; blue book is much higher so I think this is a pretty good deal. Any thoughts or insider reviews that I should be aware of?

i say go for it my uncle have one.
just the though is still a Lexus, if going to keep the L.C. for long time, some parts will be expensive; like electric motor for the seat, steering wheel etc....
but overall they are good SUV Quit, Smooth, and the whole nine yard.

A few things to watch for:

1. Starter usually goes out at around 80k miles
2. Exhaust manifolds go bad before 100,000 miles...each side costs $1000
3. Electronic shock "accumulators" usually go bad before 100k miles

So, if possible, then i would consider getting a CPO one because the above problems are almost guaranteed to go bad before 100k miles.
