Seems like an aweful lot of cash for a 25 year old 4runner w/IFS and 209,000 on it. Most of his "thousands invested" was maintenance related. Still not a rebuilt motor, so you'll have that coming. May take 100,000 to get there, maybe a lot less.
Keep your eyes peeled for an '85 at a better price.

Looks very clean n well taken care of. No pics of the engine. Price is high but then that's what clean 1st Gens are starting to fetch. He states it has the "infamous" 22RE. He doesn't know what that means! Genius! The 3.0 is infamous. The 22RE is famous for its reliability. It has that hideous red interior, which fades to a nice shade of pink.

Keep in mind guys this is in Canada. Actual mileage is closer to the 130k range when converted from KMs. IMO for one up in Canada if the rust isn't bad Id go for it if you can bring the price down a lil. I much rather start with one that has little to no rust compared to one that needs floors and a frame. One like that here in Charlotte would probably go for the 4-5k range but being in Canada I see rust being the primary issue with these 25yr old trucks. At any rate I'd go check it out and check for rust. I do have to say though I think the red is kinda hideous, but thats just personal preference.

yeah that's what I was thinkin' but it has 209000 Kilometers Not Miles so.. still not that high. my 3rd gen is at 300000 Km's.

I would really love an 85 solid but still...

I too agree the price is too high. It does has low miles but all these thousands are just maintenence. I think most of us on here are used to Amurica prices though. Id like to know more about how much first gens are going for up there.

if he flew down & drove the 88 or 85 back he be spending just as much or more.....
+ Im pretty sure there would be import tax....

That's what I was thinking. I think 1st gens are beginning to gain in value. Have you checked the value of 70's Broncos? They cost $4000 originally and a stock restored Bronco costs about $20k now. So you buy a stripped wrecked 1st gen for $900. It's going to cost several thousand to get it to the condition of that 4Runner. I think it's easily worth $5000, a third of its original cost. There's $1000 in tires and wheels alone. In the end it's worth what OP feels he can pay. I'd go $5000-$5500.
