Throttle Body Plate Question - HELP!!

2006 V8 sport 4x4.

My throttle body plate is not completely perpendicular to the cylindrical housing?? Is this normal or no?? I'm still trying to hunt down the severe shaking at extremely low speed/crawl. Several of you have said it was the tires. Well, they were rotated and rebalanced, with the spare swapping out one tire at a time as one of you suggested. No difference. I really feel this is coming from the engine.

This picture is taken from the front of the TB. As you can see, the bottom of the plate tilts quite a bit toward the back.

This one is taken from the back with the the back of the plate facing up. As you can see, the bottom of the plate tilts toward the back. The plate is not resting perpendicular to the housing.

This one is taken from the back with the back of the plate facing up also. I pushed the top of the plate from the front so it would be perpendicular to the housing, just for reference.

First off, don't push/move the plate with the key on; it will mess with the system by possibly setting DTCs and/or confusing the vehicle's parameters.

Second, that's actually normal and I would not worry about it; the resting position is typically slightly canted as seen in your picture, which was also true of older non-electronically controlled vehicles as well (some of the older fuel injected and carburetor vehicles had even more cant.) When you turn the vehicle on the ECM will command the throttle body to open up a certain amount based upon throttle signal from the accelerator pedal and also vary the amount of cant in the throttle blade at rest to account for idle variations (where as on older cable driven units the Idle Air Control would open a bypass passage to control extra air and kick up the idle.)

All in all that looks like a normal electronically controlled throttle body at rest.
 
Thanks for the excellent explanation! I had the battery disconnected and key was not in the ignition. I knew it only opens one way so I wasn't forcing it to go more than it would. Was just curious about the canted resting position of the plate.
 
If you've had the battery disconnected for a while, I would let the vehicle idle with all loads off (i.e. HVAC, Headlamps, Radio, ect.) for a good 5-10 minutes to let it self-learn its idle.
 
I did just that. Even though it very quickly settled down to its usual 600-650 pretty much right after the cold start.
 
Air turbulence from something like that wouldn't affect idle circuit operation at all.

Watched video: Hard to tell anything by video, but it sounds like you're running swampers (or some badly worn, other MTs), which will give odd vibes at random low speeds. The rotating them may or may not make any difference. If at all possible, I would find a set of wheels with highway tires to test with (I've got you covered if you want to make a trip to Grand Junction, CO).

Have you tried putting the vehicle up on jack stands** and trying to replicate the issue? I'd go for that and a stethoscope, then try removing the front, then rear drive shaft.

A GoPro Camera, if you have one, is also another handy piece of diagnostic equipment. If you glue a mount to a neodymium magnet (I get mine from old hard drives), you can place it pretty much anywhere.

**Smaller than 6 ton jack stands are not safe for a running vehicle with spinning drive line, IMHO, and even then, I use 8. 2 at the outer end of the rear driveshaft, 2 at the inner end of the rear driveshaft, 2 under the front LCAs, and 2 under the frame rail behind the UCAs. I have no idea how I have amassed so many jack stands, but that scenario is using less than 40% of my jack stand inventory.
