Anything to this? Throttle Body Spacers Toyota 4Runner - 2010 V6-4.0L 46-38008 - aFe Power
Back when engines were using carburetors, you wanted a lot of turbulence just past the needle so that the fuel would atomize and produce better combustion. You would also polish the intake port so as to prevent the mix from condensing on the walls rather than being sucked into the combustion chamber.
But no one uses carbs anymore. The injector nozzles are already designed to atomize the fuel into in a way that isn't possible without several computers and large amounts of R&D money. The TRD intake you added removed restrictions so the air flow would speed up, ostensibly putting more air into the combustion chamber, which would be defeated by adding turbulence (which slows air flow down) before the combustion chamber.
The only thing that could possibly do that is a large volume of stickers, preferably of sea turtles, little boys pissing on things, and obscure aftermarket parts providers, and this website. Stick Family stickers actually reduce HP by 5% per sticker... exponentially. So basically what you are saying is that there is no magical $100 part that will turn my 4R in to a Formula 1?![]()

well, I do have this TRD sticker.. I can't say for sure, but my Butt dyno says that I gained at least 100HP from it..
