After a few weeks working on my buddy's 89 Runner Automatic 3.0 that he just purchased, I finally got the chance to test drive it and nearly shit my pants. I was cruising around 25mph around the neighborhood and as I was approaching a stop sign I slowed down but I noticed the car wouldn't stop it kept going. So I threw that ***** in neutral to slow her down and eventually shutting her off. I started the car up again and the rpm was soaring to 5k RPM and I quickly shut it off again. I popped the hood and sure enough the throttle body was stuck open. It took a few good taps with a flash light to finally close the throttle body. Any fix to this. I sprayed it down with wd40 but not so confident if it's fixed.
FYI We didn't work on the engine. We did alot of interior work on it.
