Can a gummed up throttle body cause a rough idle on 1992 3.0 v6?

It did on mine. At least, I believed that to be part of the problem. Just be sure to use a spray cleaner that is approved for throttle bodies (not plain 'carb cleaner'). You could damage some of the electricals in the area.
