Throttle Sticking

Hey guys looking for a little advice. I keep noticing my throttle sticking a little bit here and there. I'll come to a stop at a light and when I let off the brake the truck really moves forward like I'm slightly touching the accelerator. To fix it I drop it in neutral and mash the gas a few times and then it stops for a while. Seem to be happening more frequently recently and something is definitely binding up. Any ideas on what needs to be lubed or looked at?

Sounds like carbon buildup in your throttle body making the butterfly stick. My wife's previous Camry used to have that problem.

You can take off the rubber intake hose going to the throttle body, rotate the butterfly by turning the part where the cable attaches, reach in with a rag that has throttle body cleaner on it, and wipe the carbon off of the inside of the intake tube and edges of the butterfly.

I imagine someone will post some links that have pictures. I don't have any, and some of my terminology may be incorrect. I hope this helps.

I recommend only cleaning the throttle body with a rag and do not use any wet cleaners. Also keep it from getting down into the hole in the bottom, that's where the IAC pulls air for idle and if that gets clogged your engine will die when it comes to a stop.

Put a drop of oil on each side of the butterfly valve inside the throttle and work it in, then wipe off the excess oil.

If it still sticks after that it's your throttle cable causing the issue and will need to be replaced.

Ok, I'm gonna go out a play with it later and report back. I have some throttle body cleaner that I got with my mass airflow cleaner a while back. Probably just going to spray that on a rag and do what you guys said.

Silicone spray using the straw into the rubber boot on the throttle cable can help it work much smoother.
