thumping noise after radio install

I installed an Alpine IDA-X100 radio (the single DIN one with the iPod display) in my wife's 2004 4Runner last night. I used the Scosche digital interface kit since the vehicle had the JBL Synthesis system factory installed. I am also using a Peripheral kit for an auxillary output for the XM Roady we have installed.

Last night, after I got everything buttoned back up, I noticed a light thumping sound coming from the speakers. Seems to happen every 5 seconds. It is only noticeable at low volumes or at the end of songs when the volume is lower. Any ideas of what this could be?

Well, I'll follow up on a tip from another website that stated the thumping noise is probably from an incorrect ground. I'm going to re-ground it tonight and see if that fixes the problem.

A ground doesn't seem like it would do it, but possibly.

Actually, I fixed it yesterday. The Scosche digital interface (amp turn on wiring harness) was bad. Returned it and bought a Peripheral interface. No thumping aymore.
