Thursday Gas Prices.....

$1.69-$1.80 for regular grade from Raleigh-to-Fayetteville NC here on the East Coast.

Not bad really. Like I said in an earlier post - If you were to factor out 9/11, Iraq and Afghanistan, then oil "should" be around $60 a barrel today based on its growth from 1970-1980-1990, and would make gas right around $2.00 in most places outside of NYC and LA (and Alaska and Hawaii too I guess).

The speculators did us no favors by running up the futures to $145 a barrel this past summer, but the low prices right now are certainly an indirect result of that time period. If The Messiah can calm the economy down and reinstill some confidence in consumers, I expect $2 a gallon is about where it'll land for a little while. Depends on demand really.

Still under $1.50 here for 85.

Nice.

I got mine for $1.58 yesterday. I'm sad to see them going back up.

Didn't OPEC cut two million barrels per day? They said it was to help stabilize the economy or something? Someone want to explain this to me?

Simple supply and demand. They cut production so that they can raise prices.

It's the Golden Rule....."He who has the gold (oil) makes the rules!" or sets the prices. They raise the price because they can.

Ahh....but when the Saudis get pissed and tell OPEC to go to hell.....well, that just throws all of the rules out of the basket!

If it stays under $2/gal for a while longer would be nice and holds at $2.50 for alot longer I could deal with that but once it's over $3 it bugs me.

after 3 dollars it starts to pinch my wallet a bit.

Lol I had to bump this

Just looking at old threads and this was funny, man I'd think I died and gone to heaven if those prices were today!
