Tick noise diagnosis - video included

This was posted earlier but was one of the deleted posts. I'm experiencing a loud tick/knock type noise from the alternator area of my 2005 V6. I've attached a video for people to listen/watch. It's hard to pinpoint exactly where it's coming from tho. I opened the oil filler cap to see if the noise increased - i.e. it's coming from that head but it stayed the same. One member thought it might be the standard V6 tick but it's loud and I've never heard it before. It's the loud 1,2,3,4 1,2,3,4 1,2,3,4, repetitive noise in the video - you'll be able to hear it. It would get faster as throttle was increased. Approx 113k miles, oil was changed recently and switched to synthetic. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

Before watching the video, I was going to suggest that it could be a valve, but after watching it, no way. I need to think about that for a little while. The "tap" sounds like it is exterior to the motor itself, thus exposed. I will get back to you.

Remove the serpentine belt to rule out any of the accessories. And start the engine and see ifthe noise goes away

I had thought about that but didn't have access to tools at the moment. By the time I got home, the noise had stopped. I'm glad it went away but concerned because I wasn't able to pinpoint it. Getting ready to go take another look.

Just got back from a drive and the sound has jumped to the other bank. It's hard to tell because I was by myself but as I increased the rpms, it seemed to go away above 2000 rpm. Anyone?

Start with what's easy to do and verify the easy stuff first before getting too worked up about the expensive stuff imho.

A stethoscope or wooden rod etc should assist you in touching items and listening for the noise (with one end to your ear/ears). I also feel removing the belt would eliminate a lot. Plus, you can hand turn some items to verify if you feel you have it located. That noise is very distinct and should be fairly easy to trace. Have you gotten the dealers opinion as to what the noise is? I doubt it’s a first that they have not heard.

Belt was replaced two weeks ago. But I will pull it today and hear what happens.

Updated:

Went to a friend's today for a bbq with a bunch of his wheelin buddies. One knows a lot about Toyotas. As soon as we popped the hood he said no to anything internal and after a minute of checking it was apparent the noise was in time with a white stripe on the serpentine belt. I had been looking at night and couldn't really see much. After a closer look - we noticed the belt was off a rib on the crank pulley and had some damage on the edge nearest the front bumper. 30 seconds later the belt was put back where it belongs and all is good. I'm so freakin relieved you have no idea. Thanks to those that had suggestions - esp the ones that were spot on.
