Ticking when the heat is on???

I have a 98 4runner and since is has got colder, I've been running the heat. I have noticed that a ticking noise happens sometimes when I do. Also when I accelerate I notice that the ticking becomes faster? I'm pretty bad at car repair so I was wondering if someone could point me in some sort of direction?

Does it happen only when the fan is on? I narrowed my clicking noise down to only occuring when the fan is blowing so I'm not concerned ;)

my runner does the same, however the other morning it was 32 degrees and i ended up driving my dads 07 tundra to his tune up appointment, and as i turn the heat on it made the same ticking i heard in my runner, immediately lost my concern on the sound.

I asked the guy that changes my oil and he said something about trash being in my vents or something?

i had this problem on an old cherokee, turns out there was a mouse nest in the blower motor. yikes. your blower motor may be going bad, or have something in it.

I have this sound, but I think it's just my blower unit going bad. So, hopefully, for you it's just trash in the fan. My fan was just dusty.. no trash in mine.

Hopefully mines not. It seems too work fine except for the sound.
