Time Delay on Relay for AMP?

I have an aftermarket DSP and AMP and i am getting an initial pop at startup. I need a ~10 second delay for the AMP to turn on but i am having a hard time finding a reliable easy device to provide this delay.

I have tried 2 different Pac TR7's and another time delay with no luck. These things suck to program and so far they never work.

Any simple solutions? suggestions?

What you want is a "on delay timer relay"

They are common in industrial controls. I use ones branded by ABB, but you can find inexpensive ones all of the place.

You can wire the output to the amps remote turn on wire. So after a set amount of time, it will turn on.

Yes, using this on the amps remote turn on.

Looks like its overbuilt and used for AC but its rated for DC 12v too so looks like it will work perfect.

My link is just an example... I've never used that brand. DC only units exist as well.

I typically use more brand name stuff like ABB, but it's a lot more expensive. eBay is a great place for used brand name stuff like this.

If you need to switch larger loads, you can pair these with relays or contactors, but amp remote signaling is fine though the timer relay.

With all the trouble i have had trying to get a simple on delay timer for around 10sec that actually works ill do/try just about anything.

Ill look for ABB but it appears the only ones i have found are from far away country's. lol Im not a big eBay user.
