Time for new tires.

Just purchased a close to mint 95 4runner se5 4x4. Unfortunatly for me or maybe not...the tires are bald. Stock size is 31x10.5x15. Im wanting to purchase a set of new wheels to go along with my tires also.

1st Question is: can I up the size of the stock tires to the 32x11.5x15 without any rub. The truck is sitting at stock height.

2nd Question is: Where is a good place to find a nice set of 15" black wheels? Dont need anything to fancy, just something to look nicer then stock.

3rd Question is: What size wheel should I be looking for.

Ive tried to use this site and others like tirerack to anwser some of these questions but have had no luck. And the only wheels I have found have been 15x7's which seem like they would be to narrow. Any help is greatly apprietated!

why dont you try powdercoating the ones youve got on their right now. snazzy and cheap. what more could you ask for?

You should post this question in the Classic T4R Subforum, you'll get more people responding with similar models to yours.
 
Wow, more worthless anwsers...Im sorry I figured tires and wheels was the right place to post a TIRE AND WHEEL QUESTION. Guess not..... Impatient...115 people read the post before 1 person anwsered....dont think thats really impatient. And your right, So far it is worthless so I will be going :hello:

Hey jackass, coming to this forum and posting crap like that isn't going to get you the info you were looking for. I posted a useful answer above giving you some advice. Most people who browse this TIRE AND WHEEL subforum are 3rd and 4th Gen owners, not 2nd Gen owners, so they wouldn't have the answer to your question.

Also, just because someone looked at your thread doesn't mean they have the answer. Your thread title is pretty vague and maybe it was something they thought they knew, but when they saw it was a 2nd gen they didn't know anything about it, nothing personal. Its not like they know the magical answers to your questions and are keeping them from you. Haven't you ever used a forum before? :bash:

I'll repeat my suggestion: Post your questions in a new thread in the Classic T4R subforum. If you get an answer great, if not then don't bitch about it.

Trust me your not going to break anyone's heart by ragging on the the forum and threatening to leave. The last thing we need around here is another smartass crybaby...

The only thing that is worthless is your existance on this forum. With your attitude and expectations no wonder no one answered you.

Tyler - Did you do a search on the Forum --- suspect same question came up several times over the last 12 years (applicable to a '95 Rnr).

Time for new tires is why it was read so many times--- and closed when we saw it was for a '95. Suspect the vehile is on its what 4th set of tires?
 
I know FL's atitude wasn't the greatest but coming back with equally bad atitudes toward him doesn't help and it's not good for this forums rep. If I was reading this as a noob I might not come back either and look for another board to peruse.


The best forum for 2nd gens is yotatech since there's more over there than anywhere else.

2nd post - bitches because no one is paying attention to him.

3rd post - (before any replies) calls this forum, essentially all the members of this forum, worthless.

IMO, he doesn't deserve respect. If he would have checked his attitude at the door then maybe he would have gotten more thoughtful responses.

I guess I answer his question

yes you can fit a 32 inch tire tall wise.. no you cant fit a 11.5 inch width tire without lift.

you may be able to crank the Torsion bars some to fit the 11.5 inch in width but thats about it.

stick with 31s because in a 2nd gen, your gearing isnt going to like a 32 or 33.
 
wow, if youd have answered him about 130 people ago maybe we wouldnt have had to listen to all of his bitching.....

Total durration of this thread so far is two or three days. How desparate is the need for that perfect set of new tires? Tranquilizers might be a better thing to focus on first, then tires.
