Time for tires.

hey guys
I would like to replace my tires but I need some help. Im sure this has been asked plenty of times but I would like to know the biggest size tire I can install. I have a 97 sr5 2wd. Thanks for the help!

That's true to an extent, but larger tires throw off the odometer also (and speedometer), making it appear that you haven't travelled as far.

Yes that is correct , how bad it effects it has alot to do with the type of tires you put on too.

I'm running 1 up size Revos (265/70/17) but switched them on day 1 so I never noticed the change. I get good milage with my truck so I'm content with it , but will take any addition to milage I can get .

Koz , what size Revos on the 4R ? Did you stay with 265/65/17

To answer your question 265/75 is the largest tire size you can fit without doing a lift.

Take a look through the 3rd gen sub forum for additional information on your 97' or use the "search" button at the top and look for whatever you need to know.

I had REVOs on my Taco, I'm still rolling on the H/Ts, on the Runner. Just before the next winter I will be putting on the REVO LTs 265/70/17. They are a little smaller in diameter then the P rated 70s. They are also as wide as the 65s. The LTs also have a deeper and more aggressive tread pattern. I'm going with the LTs because I tow (80psi) and do some off roading (more plies in the sidewall).
