Time to ban some people.

As many of you have noticed, there are a few new members that just re-post others replies. While this doesn't really bother me, it does junk up threads.

Is there anything that can be done about this? (mods)

Sounds like theyre posting other folks stuff

as a way to get enough posts so that they can post links, pics and ad's. probably with virus's and malware.:hunter::AK47::gun5::50cal::sniper::ak472::flamethrwoer2::whip2::gun6:

Yeah, it seems like all of them put a picture at the end of the copied post but I can never see what it is.

Spammers is a bigger problem than a few noobs trying to up their post count.
And I see non-noobs multiple posting to up their post counts too.

Well if they have

dynamic IP addresses and are located in other countries theres not much you can do about that.

But this site does have a history of planted malware and virus's being planted in ad's.:uzi:

I don't see these as noobs just trying to up the count. Not one post has been anything but a half quote of something someone has said.

Would the mods be able to make a grace period for new members? I've seen it on other forums I'm a member of

Examples could include, a new member cannot create a thread until after 20 or so posts, or cannot create a new thread for 5 days of joining. Or a new member cannot post for the first 2 days of creating an account, etc, etc. You get the point.

Good way to push new members to a different site in my opinion. I've been an some MR2 forums for years, but when I recently added a Spyder to the collection and tried joining a couple Spyder specific forums, i ran in to that wait period, which resulted in me not posting some of my mods on that forum. They weren't revolutionary changes or anything, but detailed installations can always be helpful.

As for the original problem, just appoint a few more members to moderator privileges to delete the spam.

30 posts in 24 hours and every one's a duplicate of someone else's post. Is this a form of phishing im not familiar with? Posting duplicate posts so that someone will mistakenly reply to the duplicate post allowing the spammer to hack there acct for personal info?

This may be pure coincidence, but last week i had someone in POLAND try to login to my FB acct. I dont know whether its the FB Firefox plugin but i do know that you cant hack an FB from FB it has to be somewhere with access to FB if im not mistaken.

Thats ironic coming from someone that was banned permanently yet somehow now has two names.

I think you should be a bit nicer, I kind of like the PSA posts. Banning Gerdo would be counter productive to the purpose of boards like this. He always has good input for people and he cares.

thats my .02 cents anyways. I know you didn't ask for it, but I didn't ask your opinion on this thread and I got it anyways.
