Time to change the rubbers... The tires I mean

Ok so its been a while now and these michelin's are wearing down too much and winter snow has just started. I need new tires but i dont want to stray away from the michelin brand. Im not looking for a very aggressive tire tread or put massive 32's on it. Right now we have the A/t tires and they have worked out pretty well so far. But i'd like to try something new.

I agree with Thai, if you're wanting to stay with Michelin, the AT2s are probably their 'flagship' line these days.We have them on wife's Pilot and so far they're as we expected. I'm sure the AT2s will wear at least as well as the Revos, and 'stay quiet' , the Revos got louder as they wore.

i used to install revos and i never thought they were all that good ive got Firestone Destination Ats and ive been doin better than alot of guys with revos.

Are you going to be doing any off-roading? I don't mean fireroads/gravel/dirt. If not, you can go with the AT2's mentioned above or even LTX M/S. The tread patterns for both look similar. Also, the Cross Terrain will be cheaper and will do the job for you (currently, $139 @ tirerack).

+1 for the Cross Terrain's.

I got about 60k out of my old ones, and they worked wonders in the snow (when new) but be careful once they wear for a while, as they seemed to lose traction rapidly and abruptly between fall and winter of last year.

My Revo's show almost no signs of wear, even with about 16k on them and I am a relatively aggressive driver. I have heard that these tires will harden up considerably though (since they are pretty soft now). What I really like about them is the tread design, and much prefer it to the Cross Terrains, but to each his own :artist:

I have the opposite opinion of the Revos. Ive had them on 2 T4R and had great results. They do well offroad as well as on. The 98 I them them on was a 4x2 and they took me anywhere I wanted to go with in reason. I opted to go with them on my 05 this last summer when the BFG's were bald. I looked into the BFG A/T, but went with the Revos due to price and the newer technology. The Revos according to my mechanic and Bridgestone literature, supposedly get softer as they wear, helping maintain traction. Like I said on my second set and I am very happy with them.

see that was the complaint that alot of people had with revos they wear way to fast for the price of them now granted good tire but not for me

The Dueler AT's are nice. I like my Cooper Discoverer ATR's also. The michelin AT2's are not aggressive at all. Neither are the cross terrains.

I've ran the LTX's and the REVO's and the Firestone Destination AT's are as good or better and a lot less expensive. I just bought an '08 Sport with the Dunlop Grand(crap)Trek AT20's and have considered swapping them with the Destination AT's that have been on my '00 SR5 for over 25,000 miles.

Been looking, comparing and pricing tires for a while.Even in the stock size of 265-65-17, the Wrangler AT/S comes in a load range -C- with 17/32'' of tread depth.Got a price of 710.00 out the door for a set of 4. Might be worth a look.

i dont know if you like the bfg all terrains but they look good and are the only all terrain that is equally suited for off road as on road. they cost alot tho

Yep, the BFG-AT are in the same class with a deep tread and long wear.I think theres' more to the BFGs though, in side wall strength and cost.

I'll use Tire Rack to get an idea on whats available and in what size - load range. Didn't see the Wranglers but they do list the General Grabber AT-S in 265-65-17 with a tread depth of 17/32''. Probably the only tire there with tread that deep in my stock size that isn't an E- load range. C - range is plenty for my use.The ratings and reviews get figured in for sure but I'm always observant as to what vehicle the tires are on.Can't expect too much when a 3/4 ton pickup is running around with tires that should be on a CRV, CRVs have 16'' wheels just like 3/4 ton trucks.I've learned not matching tires to your use makes for negative reveiws every time.

Excellent. There's also a General Grabber HTS (?) that seems to be highly rated on tirerack but there are very few overall "miles" listed so I'll take it with a grain of salt.
