timing belt advice V8 2004

I have had my 2004 4runner limited V8 since new in December 2003.
I just turned 59k miles. (I have a 5 mile commute and a summer sports car)
Love my 4runner and have kept up with Toyota recommended maintenance through my Toyota dealer whom has never tried to supersize my maintenance. In fact just the opposite, they often tell me I can go longer given my typical low annual mileage.

I know the book says 90k miles or 108 months for the timing belt.

So, I'm at 59k miles and 117 months. Winter is coming to Colorado.

Thinking about doing the timing belt, water pump, coolant flush and hose replacement. All are original.

Am I crazy or is it time?

Almost 12 years of trouble free Toyota reliability. I use the truck for a couple of off-road trips into the Colorado mountains or Utah each year. Hate to break down on a trail or national park back roads or a winter storm.

Just added new stereo/NAV and wheels and tires, so I'm planning to keep it at least 2-3 more years.

Not crazy at all and solid job thinking ahead. Belts do age and can fail due to that. It's always better to be on the safe side then putting it off until it fails on your drive home.

Agree with Doc..... Best to err on the safe side with an interference engine....;- )

It's a roll of the dice if you don't do it so you just gotta ask yourself one question....do you feel lucky?...well do ya?

Change it and have the peace of mind.
