Timing belt question

I just got my 97 4runner with 130k miles on it. The previous owner said he went to get the timing belt changed and when they started to do it they could tell that it had been changed already. I don't know this guy so don't just want to take his word for it that it has been changed, but at the same time I don't want to get it done again so soon after it may have already been changed. Is there a way to see if the belt has been changed? It does NOT have the normal Timing belt changed sticker on the cam cover.

t belt

the acc. belts would be new and if you really want to check, take the upper t-belt cover off...You can take the top 4-5 10mm bolts off and pull it back a little and see if it is new...Very easy solution.....20 min max and no tech skills required.
