Thought I would share a GOOD shop repair story.


I just had my Timing Belt and Water Pump with all Seals and V Belts replace for $525.00 total and got it back the same day.


Finally, a shop that's not out to gouge the customer

Sounds like a good deal!

I wonder though, it looks like changing the T-belt and WP would be a pretty easy job on the 3.4. Lots of room to work, or so it seems. Mine was done about 20K miles ago, so I'm not worried about changing it just yet.

it took me about 5 hours, that is including going and picking up a water pump halfway through the job. it isnt too hard if you have a basic understanding of what you are doing. the price isnt too bad at all.

I just replaced my timing belt, water pump, heads, crank shaft, cams, crank pulley, pistons, piston rings, ecu, exhaust, headers, had it port and polished, bored and stroked, driveshaft, fuel pump, fuel filter, MAF sensor, air intake system, brake pads, brake rotors, brake calipers, brake drums, brake shoes, oh ya and oil and oil filter for $6,358.32. I think I got a good deal.

Edit: Huh? just had this thought... I paid $9,000 for my 4Runner. Anyone wanna buy a 2000 4runner with 113000 miles for $15,358.32

Ya I was thinking about buying a new truck but my 97' T4R was running great so I decided to have an overhaul done to it as well.
This past May I had the timing belt & water pump replaced along with all the idlers,tensioners, both cam seals & crank seal.
They replaced my valve cover gastets with tube seals,spark plugs,& all drive belts. I also had to have them install new front sway bar links since one had snapped.They also replaced my front rotors & brakes. Oil change & filter.
Oh ya, I also had them replace the center section of my rear bumper which was rotting away.
Grand total of $2,104.16.
The truck now has 128,000 miles,so I figure I'm good for another 200,000 miles or 10 years especially the way this economy is going.
