:dammit: I'm @ 86K miles with my '03 Limited V8, and nothing broke yet. Whenever i hit that 100K mark it would kinda suck that i paid all that money for extended warranty and get nothing for it.
I felt the same way up until a couple of months ago. My water pump started leaking and my local dealer replaced the pump, gasket, coolant and timing belt for free. I only paid for the timing belt (around $47.00 I believe). I also got 2 new hood support pistons covered and a new right front axle assy. under the platinum warranty and all within 6 months. Those repairs far exceeded the warranty purchase price.
Wanted to refer back to you i have an 04 4.7 runner and have about 113k on it and i am debating wether i should replace the belt or not, my other belts are starting to make noise when the car is cold in the morning, but than it goes away once it warms up. My mechanic wants $1000 for =timing belt, water pump, seals , all other belts and tune up and labor. you think this is good?:cannon:

the price is going to be close to 1000. and you should do it. no debating it what so ever. but if it were me I'd take it to toyota only because it is a big and important job that you want done perfectly right the first time.
Just had the local Lexus dealer (closer to my house than Toyota) replace my '03's @ 105k miles along w/the water pump etc. $895. The stock belt was in decent shape, but I plan on driving this rig another 70K if I can.

I was able to find a Toyota tech that does work on the side. He ordered me a TB and WP and red coolant all Toyota parts from his shop for $200. He charged me $200 labor. $400 was a sweet deal and at 105,000 original miles she was feeling the age... He stated that the WP was just starting to leak so it was good of me to catch it early. The Toy drives and feels much tighter now like new almost... He was also impressed with the truck, he asked what I payed for it (11,500) he was blown away and told me something I was very proud to hear from a Toyota Master Mechanic (this truck would have sold for 20,000 at my shop! its a good truck!)
My advice is to find a mechanic who knows his stuff and befriend his ass! I was lucky my friend gets crazy discounts at his Toyota shop! But i have seen people pay 1,200 for this service and some pay as much as $400 just for the parts... I feel you can do better if you look around!
Also if you live in my area I should be able to get you a hook up! It may not be as cheap as mine but it should be much less that $650... a steal from what I have seen so far from others. (Unless you do it yourself)
