Got my windshield tinted at 50% today. No noticable difference while driving. I can see a difference on the outside though. We'll see at night..tonight. I dont think ill get hassled by the cops, but I do live in CA and everything is illegal here.

50% reference:

I have 45% on mine and really like it. I don't think it's much of a visible difference to unsuspecting people, but it makes a big difference in heat.

What do you have on your side windows?

Have fun at night. Sometimes it's hard for me to see on dark roads.

Thats pretty much why I got it. The interior UV protection etc. I have 5 on the passenger/driver and 1 on the rest. I tint windows as a side job so ive been experimenting. I didnt have to resources to do a full windshield though since I dont buy wholesale vinyl etc

I gotcha. If you've been able to get away with tint that dark I really don't think the windshield tint will make a difference.

Even if you did get pulled over for tint I highly doubt they would check your windshield.

Ya ive been pulled over my fair share of times but with the windows down the windshield isnt really noticeable. Your truck looks pretty blacked out itself man!

How's the 5% and/or 1% at night can you see out still? I'm going to get mine darker all around so I'm trying to figure out if I should get 15% over everything to end up around 5% I think. I also love the look of the windshield tint.

Looks good. I like what you've done with the truck. But i have to ask why 50%?

I didnt want to draw too much attention to the windshield with cops and such and still be able to see out at night

5% is fine IMO and is pretty much blacked out, ive been running 5% for about 3 years now. 1% is really hard to see out of at night but is the ultimate privacy, I use my back up camera and roll down my windows at night to see.

No, 5% isn't legal anywhere; but you can get away with it in Florida with no issues. I myself have 5% on my front two, 30% on my windshield and 1.3% on all the rear windows. They are definitely fine during the day, anyone that rides in the back though thinks there is a bad storm brewing haha. At night it is fine on the road but not on a trail. My 30% windshield isn't bad at all to see out of night or day but is very noticeable during the day.

Autbond FTW!!!!!!! so clean

yeah I thought so. i just couldn't figure out why you were worried about the windshield if your windows are 5%? I had 5% on my previous vehicle and 20% down the windshield. I could see fine at night if there were no lights on in the vehicle. Even if the radio was on it was hard to see. Do you notice a big difference heat wise with the 50%? i am about to tint my windshield and trying to decide how dark to go.

Yeah. I got 5% all around myself. I don't think I could live with anything lighter.

I would highly discourage anybody thinking about getting less than 45% tint on the windshield, especially if you have 5% on the rest of the windows. I would imagine that with 30% on the windshield your night vision would be greatly reduced. I would even want to imagine 30% windshield and rain. Sounds like a nightmare.

I have a hard time backing up in dark places with my 5%. Glad my rear window rolls down. Ha.

Looks greak man.

Im thinkin about goin 30% down my winshield to match the fronts. I used to have 4% over 20% on my fronts, but the cops down in Georgia are crazy about tint so I had to strip it off.

It's actually not bad at all. I drove out in Colorado in blizzards at night all the time and it really doesn't phase me. I do have to dim my headunit at night though for sure. The lower temp in the summer is great, it makes a huge difference. I wouldn't go any darker than 30 though

No shops around here will do the windshield? Anyone in FL do it (got thier windshield tinted) or know if it's legal in the sunshine state. I don't want to ride dirty, they will pull you over for little shit here at the beach. But ..... would like the inside a bit cooler.

On a side note your blacked out rigs look like my Fatboy.

Looks awesome just like the cars in TV commercials. I just am not sure about night safety, etc with the Front Windshield. If I ever did the front windshield, I'd do it Ceramic Tint. Much lighter in color, rejects 20% more heat than regular tint, and you can barely notice it. I have 35% Regular tint on my front windows and have my rear windows and rear windshield Ceramic Tinted at 50%. My Audi has 35% all around and I def feel the UR is cooler. Good Luck with the law
