Tips needed for camping - George Washington Forest in Virginia

My family and I are going on vacation next month. We have a long drive that we would like to cut in half by stopping to camp in the George Washington Forest in Virginia. I wheeled my old Tacoma there one time about 5 or 6 years ago, but I was with a group and don't remember much.

I'm looking for a decent spot to roll in, set up a tent, and crash. The wife and kids may enjoy traveling on some type of fire road while we are there.

Any suggestions, to include locations with and without rest room facilities, would be appreciated.
