Looking at a set of used Hankooks from craigslist. I asked the guy to look for the 4 numbers in its own box to tell the week it was born. He didnt find the solo 4 number box but he did find a box with rfh0311 on it. Is that telling me that it was made early this year? or is this information irrelevant?

The DOT code is usually 12 characters long, the last 4 is the week and year. They usually only put the full DOT code on one side of the tire. But if rfh0311 is all they can find on both sides, then yes the tire was made in the 3rd week of 2011. Hope this helps!
