Tire balance help

So I have been battling this issue trying to get my tires balanced for months now. I am running stock size bfg ko2 e load tires on trd pro wheels. Every couple of months I have been having to go back to Discount Tire (who I bought my tires from) to get them rebalanced. The last time was after a 2000 mile trip while towing a U-Haul trailer. I was getting vibrations on the highway at 55 plus miles per hour. After the last balance that is fixed but now I am getting vibrations around 25 to 40 miles per hour.

The tech mentioned it may be due to an alignment issue which I also have been getting done constantly & Fire Stone has been able to get it within spec. He mentioned it also maybe the fact that the wheels are much lighter than the tires.

At this point I am starting to not love driving my car anymore. Would new upper control arms help? I have stock ucas on a Bilstein lift 2 inch all around. Or should I be looking at new Wheels? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to try to see how out of balance the wheels are without the tires on them. Also it may matter how the tire is placed on the wheel in relation to where the valve stem is.

My friend went round and round with Discount Tire (several different stores) trying to get his KO2's to NOT shake. He finally got the problem fixed. He switched to Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Problem Solved.

I have Load E, stock-size tires on my 2016 TE. Always had a very slight vibration when I had them installed (swapped factory tires for them at 1 mile).

Got my servicing dealer (not where I bought it) to include a road force balance in the Toyota Care. Worked like a charm and that was over 40k miles ago.

LT tires can be difficult to balance -- gotta' have a road force balance done.

I'm running 285-70/17 KO2s load range E on my stock Pro rims. 2" toytec pro lift. Dobinsons upper control arms, standard balance. No problems.

All it takes is one tire or wheel to be a bit off - but a road force balance can work wonders.

That's not to say that you always need to road force balance, but in some cases it can resolve issues.

Well, I took it back today and had them road force balance it. They said they moved a few of the tires on the wheels as they were a little bit off. There was one tire that was running "way too high" and they could not fix it. He also told me this is likely the issue with the vibration. He went ahead and ordered me a new tire and they are going to replace it for free since it is a defect.

My question now is will it make the car vibrate even more now that the 3 other tires all have 19k miles on them and the new one will have full tread (14/32 I think he said)? He said the other tires all have 12-13/32 tread left. I was going to just swap them out for c ply but can't argue with a free tire.

Well you could make that one the spare. I don't know if you'll notice a difference - but it shouldn't take long to find out.

Unlikely that the mm or two will make a difference.
