Tire balancing problem

ok just did some more research and I think I understand that 5th gens are hub centric and not lug centric. I will be taking my wheels off when I get to the house and doing some measuring and whatnot.

If the wheels are not installed properly they will vibrate even if the tires are balanced. Also unlikely since any shop should be competent at installing wheels.

Yep - The Tire Shop should have used the proper lug nuts and/or hub shims if deviating from stock wheels and their hub-centric mounting provisions. Lord knows this can be easy for a high-school punk tire tech making $10/hr to omit or flat out ignore ;)

On another related topic: I had lug-centric wheel spacers for a week - horrible! Swapped to the proper Hub Centric SpiderTrax spacers - Smooth! Wheel Spacers with stock wheels can obviously have similar hub centering issues as aftermarket wheels can...
