I went out and bought some Peerless Tire Chains from WalMart. $70 + tax. Snow season is finally here in CA and I'm amped on going snowboarding soon.
I'm reading the instructions for the tire chains and the locking mechanism shown in the instructions does not match the actual locking mechanism on the chains.
Question 1: Do I have it locked correctly?
I put them on my tires and have about 3 chain links to many. This is fine for the outside because I can tie down the extra links with the chain tightener, but on the inside, I can imagine that the 3 extra links are going to be flopping around pretty good and might damage something.
Question 2: Any of you cut off extra links?
