Tire choice help please. 3rd gen

So ive been looking around now for tires for my 17" tundra wheels. Plan on going with a 265/65/17

Ive been hoping to find a used pair since Im a baller on a budget . But havent found any deals I like.

So Im trying to decide between :
Nitto terra grappler

Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S

Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10

I like the look of the Nittos best , but they dont give a mileage warrenty which makes me wonder. Plus Ive read a few reviews about uneven wear .
Im looking for a tire that will last 40-50k

I dont do much wheelin, just some toying around in the snow or dirt if anything.

I would say any of those tire choices would be good. Some complain the Yoks get loud as they age. Not many have Hankooks but the few 4th gen guys that I have followed loved them. The TerraGrappler and it's Toyo cousin, Open country A/T, are solid choices but 45-53k tires rather than 55-60k tires.

I'd look hard at the Hankook. I'd also look at the 265/70/17 size. Many 3rd gens use the 265/75/16 with great results; the 265/70/17 is the same thing... No lift required. Often the 265/70/17 is cheaper than the 65 series.

Of your listed choices I vote for the Hankook in a 70 profile. Good luck! Be sure to look at the treaddepot.com too:cheers:

I have a friend who has the nitto terra graplers on a 2500 dodge. He has got over 60k miles on them now and they still have half of the tread left.

I say nittos would be the better tire.

just remember to rotate them every 6months and check psi at least once a month and the tread life will last longer.

I have a 2.7 auto and its kind of a dog already.

Im affraid if I go with the 70 instead of the 65 its realy going to be a dog and kill my mileage.. And I dont want to regear . But yes I noticed the 70 series is cheaper to..

What do you guys think ?

With a 2.7L I'd look hard at 255/70's or even 245/75's. That'll get you to a similar or slightly taller tire that will roll easy, wear well at full 35psi (or more) and work well for you. I totally hear ya about putting too much tire on the 2.7L. My old Trooper was a joy to drive with 255/70/16 or 245/75/16's. I tried some Yok AT+II's in a full 265/75/16 and that was enough too heavy, too hard to roll and too tall to drive well.

Not a bad idea, I just looked and the 255/70 are 10$ cheaper a tire

and overall diameter is .5 bigger then 265/65 according to the tire size calculater

I think it will be a happy medium for me .

Oh. I didn't realize he regeared. That's too much work for just a bigger set of tires.

I think the 255's would be good for you too. They aren't that much smaller than 265's in width.

ya they do look badass , im sure they are great . But its just more then I want to spend on a used set.
