Tire Choice

I've narrowed it down to the Michelin Cross Terrains and the Bridgestone Dueler Alenza. 2002 4Runner that is not used off road. Any helpful comments would be appreciated.

Michelin Tires are the best

In my opinion Michelin tires are the best for SUV's. (I currently have factory installed Dunlops on my 2003 Limited, but will be upgrading shortly.

Best treadwear by far, great wet, dry or dirt traction and the best look.

I had Bridgestone rubber on my previous truck, a Nissan Pathfinder, and they were just average.

I have stock Michelin CrossTerrains. They handle great in dry, wet and snow conditions. They're also very quiet. I get them again as a strictly highway tire.

Agreed. I'm amazed at what I get away with in snow from my cross terrains and they provide a smooth, quiet ride. I've never run the duelers though.

:iagree: with the Michelin comments. I have used the Bridgestone Dueler Alenza and really like them. I can't speak to thier snow performance or very high mileage performance. At 20k they're quiet, stick well in the rain and might be a good alternative. If you can spring the couple of extra bucks it's hard to fault the Cross-Terrains.

I have Michelins on my 4Runner, 4 years and 27K on them and they look brand new,lotta meat left on the fuggers.

Just keep em inflated at right pressure and ROTATE them
When time for new tires Id buy them again in a heartbeat.


When I was looking at the actual "buy" truck at the dealership the salesman was writting the VIN info on salesform and I told him to stop, I dont want this truck I want the one next to it.
Mine had Dunlops, which Ive had on previous vehicles,
I told the salesman I want the truck next to it because it had Michelins, so he tore up the sales slip and had to get a new one
