Tire clearance ?

If I mount some Revo 2's, sized LT 255/75/R17 (32.1" tall) on my OEM 17" x 7" SR5 wheels, will the tires rub anywhere ? (my SR5 is not lifted, nor does it have a leveling kit)

Since you don't have a signature...I'm going to assume you have a 5th Generation since you posted in the 5th Generation Sub-Forum

2010 SR5 has stock 265/70/17

• 265/70/17 = 31.6"
• 255/75/17 = 32.1"

...measurements in inches vary depending on tire brand and model, because the Tread style may be thicker.

• One Member on this forum put 255/75/17 BFG M/T on his stock 4th Generation.
• And 2yrs ago, I put 265/70/17 on my stock 4th Generation.

He said there was no rubbing on his part.
I BARELY rub, only when I make a full u-turn.

It was so minor...I left it alone. An easy fix is just to move up the inner fender liner.

I hope that helps...if you need pictures, please message me.

Not sure if this helps as I am not an expert on tire size etc., but I just put on 285/70/R17 and no problems with rubbing anywhere. No lift, SR5.

Thanks for the info guys. Yes, my SR5 is a 2010 and since I am using the OEM alloy wheels (17" x 7"), the LT 255/75/R17 Revo 2's should be a perfect combination.

I had 255/75/17 BFG Mud Terrains on my 4th gen no problems were had and yes you should have no problems running the same size on your 5th gen. As for rubbing with a 285/70/17 with no lift seems kinda strange cause I have some rubbing at flex with my 5th gen and its lifted? It does have different rims with a wider offset but not much more then stock.
