tire comparisons.. prices in local area

Ok. I did some tire shopping today and the other day and came up with some ideas and prices.

I have seen that the nitto terra grapplers are 120 online with free shipping.. my moms cousin owns a tire shop and has quoted me on 40 dollars for installation and balancing every 6000 miles or some crap.

I found a BFG shop that would get me the all terrains for 169 a tire including the balancing and installation which came to 717 with tax.

Some douchebag at the goodyear place said 980 for the goodyear mtrs which are really 182 on discounttiredirect.com and free shipping.

Im between the nittos and the bfg and wrangler mtr.

Do ya'll think these are good deals or do I need to look around some more.. Plus my tires right now are 265/70/16 and if i go to the 75 series which is approx 3.14% bigger overall is that going to hurt me at all?

The Nitto's sound like a good deal and they are an awesome tire IMO.

Bigger tires are gonna hurt a little no matter what. Little slower acceleration and a little worse gas mileage.

I just bought some new tires last weekend.
31" BFG A/T's at Discount tire for $598 which included the certificates.

yeah but the 31 inch tires are like 125 and i think its 31x10.5r15 or something and i have 16 inch rims

the bfgs im looking at are 771 including the warranty package i think and thats a good 50 over what i was gonna get them installed for at my local bfg shop..

though it is free shipping but id have to pay an extra 40 to 60 to get them installed.

if those 31x10.5 fit mine id def get em

It all depends on what you want ot do. I love my Bridgesome Deuler A/T's Great on the road and on the freeway. They're also really good in the snow. They are great for an all around tire. i've gon mudding with them and i've never gotten stuck with them.. They look very aggressive and it stickout comapred to teh stoke Dueler H/T's or H/L's

I like the Nittos since they fit perfectly between the Revos and the BFG ATs but are more agressive for off road than the Revos but maintain dry and wet street handling similar to the Bridgestones and can hang with the BFGs off road but at a much cheaper price. BFGs don't even come close to wet weather traction that the Nittos offer and I know from personal experience.

now that Ive been doin some major thinking I really do want the nittos but my main concern is this.

I have the 2001 and its a 2wd.. will these 265/75r16's rub? my current 265/70s dont at all but im scared because the beefier tread and higher sidewall it might rub.

Going to get the cornfed 2.5f2r lift from burtman sometime this summer but i was going to get the tires first.

265/75/16 will not rub, unless your springs have saged out big time, or have done alot of towing. Also instead of MTR take a look at Toyo opencountry M/T not the a/t. They will out last the MTR are also better in rain and snow and dont make near as much noise as the Goodyear. As far as I'm concerned these are the best M/T on the market now and are hard to come by. Plus they are not out of round and are super uniform which require almost no tire wieghts.

Only cons are they are a bit expensive and are heavy. But tougher than a coffin nail.:
