Tire Deflators...?

Are any of you using tire deflators? If so, how do you like them, which brand, how much were they?
Looking to get a couple sets of them pretty soon. Thanks!

I had the Staun deflators, but I couldn't get them to stay at the pressure I wanted. I would set them to 16 or so, put them on and they'd go all the way to 10 or 12. Never trusted em, so I got rid of them.

And, why would you need more than 1 set?

Thanks for the input. Those are the ones ive been looking at, but they are pretty pricey! My main purpose of this post was to find out pretty much what you said, I was curious as to how accurate they were. As far as needing 2 sets, I need some for both mine and my wifes vehicle.
 
Most people I wheel with run the Trail Head Deflators. I don't have any yet but that will be the route I am going to go. You can adjust the pressure that they air down to. You just throw them on and they do their thing..... Super awesome in the winter as your hands don't freeze trying to read tire pressures and you can even drive to a trail head while you are deflating.

I will check on those when I get home. Thats what im wanting. I just want to be able to set them where I want, put em on and go. And as far as freezing your hands, I hear ya there. We were airing down a few weeks ago up in the mountains, and not only is the outside air cold, but the dang air coming out of your tires while you are holding the valve core to deflate is cold too!!! Thanks for the input!
 
Have used one but don't own one (yet). They sure work like a dream.... >

Cool thing is you can usually find them at your local Toyota dealership parts counter.

I use the stauns. They are quirky. To set them there is a part the screws up and down, and once it is set another part screw up tight into it to hold it in place. Kind of like using 2 nuts on a bolt. When youbscrew them on and off don't do it from those bolts do it from the many body of the deflator.

Once they are screwed on the tire valve, you need to have faith in them. If you regulated them to 15 and are starting at 30psi and you dont have faith and keep removing them to check with a pressure guage if you are getting close eventually they stop working. You need this to just let them drop the pressure from 30 to 15. If start them again at say 18 they might not start up again. They seem to need a higher pressure to start.

For the ARB quick deflator. I think that is the one that pulls the stem out. A friend used that, and the stem went off into the grass. The spare was needed then.
 
Thanks guys for all of your input!!! So I guess its narrowed down to the Trail head ones and Staun? I wouldnt mind the Toytec ones, but im lazy, and want to just screw the suckers on and go, let them do the work while im doing other things to get ready. From what ive found the Trail heads are a bit cheaper too. Ill do some more research before I decide, but everyones input is greatly appreciated!

I dont have 2 hours to deflate tire. Using a key/pen to push the valve core in with 35's at 40 psi and try to get them at 10 would seriously take 10 minutes a tire.

A valve core puller is pretty cheap. you can get them for $1 or less
 
I use the ARB deflator.. if you actually deflate down to 15 psi frequently the stauns take a long time. Works great, takes me probably 30-40 seconds a tire to screw it on and deflate it.. there is another company that actually makes these and they are much cheaper than ARB.. like 20$.. can't think of the name though.
