tire pressure light?

Will this light come on if tires are over pressure? The reason I ask is I went camping a couple weekends back. I added a few pound to the rear tire to help tow the trailer. The light came on this morning. Either I have a slow leak, the sensor know it is over pressure (why it took two weeks to come on?) or bad sensors.

Will the sensor sense over pressure?

Where are the sensors and how hard to replace?

If they are faulty and not replaced, other than dash light and checking my tires the old fashion way, what issues could I have?

It could be your spare tire...check the pressure on it.

The sensor is part of the tire valve. The tire needs to be removed (at least partially) to change it out. Then the new sensor needs to be linked to the TPMS computer.

I just discovered the TPMS thread and understand what it is now. These things are about 50 bucks each. If they do fail and you don't replace them are there any issues to be concerned about, other than the light on the dash?

The sensors don't trigger during an over pressure, just a minimum pressure of ~26 psi.
If your light came on and not blinking then add air because the system is fine and working. You have a low pressure (could be a slow leak or possibly the spare as mentioned.)
If your light is blinking on/off then either you have a bad sensor or a system fault.

So if the tire pressure is fine, light is blinking get it fixed or just deal with the blinking light.

Strange. My light's been on (steady, not flashing) ever since I had my tires replaced years ago. I checked the spare, and still, no dice. I've come to just ignore it, as I thought something was just faulty, and I didn't feel like paying to have it fixed.

I had the light on also and found that it was my spare.
