Are these pressure sensors required on all vehicles being made now? I seen a news segment this morning that apparantly the mag-chloride that is heavily uused on roads here (Denver) is causing corrosion on stem and a very dangerous failure of valve.
There is an investigation being launched due to high rates of blow outs caused by valve failures resulting in a complete loss of pressure in under 10 seconds. They claim that this problem can occur on all makes/models.
I would consider installing conventional valve stem when I replace tires later this year. if so, I was thinking about removing or dis-abling the the idiot light somehow.
In my opinion, if a driver cannot maintain proper inflation on tires, then they shouldn't be driving.
