I recently got new firestone Destination MT. the shop that put them on said that i needed to keep them aired up to at least 80% of the maximum psi or that it would damage the tire internally. i have never heard of anything like that and was wondering if it was true or not.
for your information the tire is a 265/70/17 load class E with a maximum pressure of 80 PSI.
it seems to me at this suggested pressure (65 PSI) with the 4 runner being as light as it is the tread would not wear properly.
any help would be appreciated i would like to figure this out before i put too many miles on these tires.
